Loreta Zubas


Loreta Zubas has gained a wide range of experience through more than 25 years of helping clients avoid or resolve legal issues. Her preferred practice is Employment law. She has worked in the field since 1985 and is certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation. After completing a Bachelor of Environmental Studies at University of Waterloo, Loreta graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa in 1983. She received a Master of Laws degree in 2003 from Osgoode Hall Law School.

In the area of employment law she acted as counsel for employers and employees in civil actions for wrongful dismissal, breach of employment contract and other related matters. As a civil litigator she has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in actions, applications and appeals in lawsuits concerning breach of contract, tort and negligence. Her significant experience in administrative law has included appearances before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Employment Insurance Commission as well as representing clients for adjudications under the Canada Labour Code and the Employment Standards Act.

Loreta has received numerous awards and recognitions including the Bicentennial Award of Merit for Outstanding Community Services, Law Society of Upper Canada, the City of Toronto Community Services Award and the Paul Harris Award from the Toronto Rotary Club. She is a co-founder of the Redwood Women's Shelter and a member of the Children’s Resource and Consultation Centre of Ontario, the WAKE– Malawi Girl’s School Project and Lbs per Sq Inch Modern Dance Troupe.

Voula Michaelidis graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1993 and a Masters of Arts in Education with a focus on Applied Developmental Psychology in 1996. She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario in 1998.

Voula has over 10 years experience in representing employer and employee clients in all aspects of employment law and human rights matters dealing with issues such as hiring, termination, severance packages, performance management, discipline issues as well as compensation and benefit review.

She is very familiar with employer workplace policies that help ensure compliance with the law and minimize disputes and has also handled employment law issues arising from corporate transactions and restructurings.

Voula has represented clients in court, mediations, grievances, arbitrations and employment standards proceedings and workers compensation proceedings. She achieved successful results in areas such as wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, injunctions and directors' liability. She is bi-lingual in English and Greek

Lambert Boenders graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Victoria College in the University of Toronto and received his LLB/Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1994. He is the newest associate on our team and brings to the firm over 25 years of employee management experience in retail and insurance operations. This background, coupled with his legal training, has been extremely useful in understanding both client and employer perspectives from a practical hands-on workplace point of view.

Lambert volunteers with the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture and received special recognition in 2010 by being awarded an Ontario Volunteer Award. He is fluent in English, French and Dutch.
