Michaela Diakiw

Michaela Diakiw is an employment and labour lawyer with over a decade of experience in private practice and in‑house. Her practice focuses on advising and representing both employees and employers.  Her work ranges from contract and policy drafting and interpretation, labour relations, termination advice and litigation, and human rights disputes.  She brings a practical, strategic approach to advice and resolving disputes, while remaining trial‑ready when litigation is required.

Michaela has extensive experience in complex litigation and has acted in matters involving employment disputes, insurance benefits, and regulatory issues. In her in‑house roles, she conducted insurance litigation and employment law advice, supported labour relations matters, and advised on collective agreements and service contracts across a range of industries. Her background gives her a strong understanding of workplace dynamics from both an advisory and litigation perspective.

Michaela has appeared before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. She is called to the bars of Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, and advises clients across Canada.
